Stages of a Mostly Former RP-er
Stage One: Realize it's been x number of weeks/month since you've been actively involved in a game.
Stage Two: Convince yourself that because you are just realizing this now it clearly means that you are over it.
Stage Three: Begin to miss certain games/characters/players/that thrill of a scene coming together before your eyes/the ooc silliness/the exercise in writing the whole thing was.
Stage Four: Poke around at ad comms and remain mostly uninspired
Stage Five: Wander over to rpvents and have an "oh yeah..." moment regarding all the reasons it was a good thing to walk away from.
Stage Five and Three Quarters: Still miss the six or so players who were a constant delight to be in a game with even when everyone else was being an assface/bad writer/annoying person all around.
Stage Six: Pine away on your Island of Misfit Old Timey Writers who will continue to miss the good ol days.
